Windows Bit-tech League of Legends thread

Not a fan of that build. There are far better all out AP carries in LoL. Specifics that I disagree with:

Ghost: not needed, you move SO fast already. Flash is too powerful of a summoner spell for you not to take.

Sorcerers shoes: Meh, I prefer to get boots of swiftness. It makes you faster when you are using Lightning rush so you can tag all the creeps/champs you want. Also makes for better chasing/fleeing without needing ghost.

Will of the Ancients: This is an OK item, but I don't think that it is that great on Kennen. I'd get the hextech revolver and then keep it while you build your Rylais.

Rabadons: You're not an AP nuke. Zhonya's is a far better item on Kennen, because you can activate it while your ult is stunning everyone.

I can't justify buying energy regen yellows when most characters I play won't make use of them. However, if you do get these it seems silly not to get a little cooldown reduction via your glyphs. Personally I've got flat armour seals, and then half and half cooldown/AP glyphs.

Ultimately, it is down to individual playstyle, and what exactly you are aiming to get out of Kennen. For me, I'm a perma-stun/slow champ who will kite you to the ends of the earth, and very rarely die. I'll jump into a teamfight a split second after the tank, stunning the whole enemy team (and a few of them a couple of times), knock everyone's health down by a third or two, and let the hard carries sweep up. That's not to say if you want to build him as a hard AP carry though.

 

I personally disagree with you Edwards, but i do see where you're coming from.

Apart from Ghost/Flash... like you noted, Flash is too strong atm and Flash + Ult or Flashing over a wall will add much more utility than Ghost (esp. since you already have Lightning Rush).

As you say, it's all down to individual playstyle and his (the guide writer's) obviously differs from yours. Your build/take is what i class as one of those annoying Kennen's who you can't burst down instantly because they're tougher than most, but will also stun you multiple times in a teamfight, leading to your death. Although it does rely on your team moreso for damage than the traditional AP carry.

Also, as for the "far better AP carries", i think that's something "we" focus too much on now, i.e. viability and all that. Whilst i've not played since my losing streak, i do think it's because i'm now playing more characters than simply top-tier/viable ones. If i wanted to only care about viability i'd only play Annie or Brand for AP Carries ;>... and i'd miss out on the fun of AP Ezreal >.>

 

Just bought plank, I haven't played him since his buffs / changes but I'm excited. I'm looking forward to trying talon and nocturne this week since they're part of the weekly rotation. I bought Kayle the other day and I think she's great early game but mediocre and tips off mid game. She's awesome in lane and can really pressure and push but mid and late game she all of a sudden is just there, she doesn't do any real great damage and she's there to speed burst / minor heal and ult people. Sure her damage helps in team fights, especially with the AoE but I'd say she isn't a big deal. I wanna keep playing her as I'm sure with a few early kills she would be able to do some serious damage but with a few early game assists she was meh later on.

 

Nunu is so easy to jungle with at level 1.
Great for smurfing

 

I tried him out just after the first set of nerfs to his jungle, so before the last set and just after Dreamhack i think, when he was considered very strong.

I personally didn't see what all the fuss was about, although it would have been after he lost his Level 1 60% slow.

I agree that he's a great jungler who's also extremely safe, however after that i find him lacklustre in other areas, especially if the other team doesn't have a jungler.

I also didn't really know what to build him as.

 

Yeah, I agree with some of your points. He's excellent at single-target damage & chasing, but I find him far less useful in teamfights, despite his ultimate, as it always gets interrupted.
I just build him as AP-nuke with a hint of tanky, to be honest.
Armor + Pots -> Boots -> Catalyst -> Boots Level 2 -> RoA -> Rylai's -> Zhonya's -> Rabadon's -> Frozen Heart

TBH i only played him for the first time back then so it would have just been jungling.

He never really appealed to me as a Champion i'd like (which i guess was confirmed when i played him), but i decided to give him a go to try and get a better understanding of jungling (as i'm usually limited to Tanky-DPS like Udyr, Trundle, Olaf, Jarvan etc.)

That'd probably where i was going wrong... i personally hate holding onto the Armor without building it into anything, therefore i just went with Wriggles -> Tank items.

I've seen AP done before, but it never seemed to be a more lol-zy build to exploit the 2.0AP ratio on his Ult more than anything.

 

We've been doing a fairly mean combo at the moment, consisting of me playing Nunu and two friends playing Amumu and Galio. My ult hardly ever gets interrupted

I dont jungle with him, I go ROA, then tanky. Seems to be working pretty well - not that I'm bothered if it doesn't, I seem to have gotten into a more not caring if i win or not mindset, and playing whoever i want. It's strangely working out ok.....

I play a few games with aB every now and then (when he's not off playing with his SK buddies ) and i remember playing 1 or 2 games with Mansueto, although that was a while back. I also believe Loftie and Edwards play together (at least that's what i thought was implied).

Ultimately we're a bit all over the place since some of us are on EU Servers, whereas others play on US servers.

On a side note, i assume that you're not "Chaox", otherwise known as a member of TeamSoloMid and also one of the ones representing Canada in the WCG?

 

Ha ha sorry to say, no i'm not "Chaox" from SoloMid, not even close to his level unfortunately.

I was just thinking it would mix things up on LoL a little, some of the better games i have had on LoL have been customs with people, all playing random champs or all random all mid? So thought I'd ask if you guys set up games.

 

Yea Ed and I do LoL together, we're on the US servers. I was going to take a quick look at the chatrooms on PVP net, but league is busy at the moment. So my suggestion would be when you sign in, join the chatroom bittech and see if anyone is around.

I imagine the first one to join the channel will create it, and others will go into it. The channel will probably shut when everyone has left, and be remade as soon as someone tries to 'join'. Of course the name can be changed, but i'm pretty sure it needs to be exactly the same with regards to capitals, so the simpler the better.

That's my suggestion, that way you can get some real time chat going with some BT forum people, and game if you wish.

 

Plank is damn fun, I wanna try jungling with him! I've found when I play with my good friends we end up trolling and making stupid but when I play with just 1 friend we are more serious and more likely to win.

I think we should make a list since this threads gotten to 30 pages with peoples usernames and if they play on US or Europe servers.

 

I have been raging a lot recently. I'm level 23, I always play with a friend whom is level 30 and I don't think I'm ready to face experienced level 30s yet. We always get raped and there are more rage quitters than ever, it seems. It's just so frustrating

 

Well even at 30 you still seem to get stuck with idiots. We normally have 2-5 of us, if you queue with 5 you get put against a premade 5 so normally its a close / good game. When you queue with 3 you normally get stuck against another premade and than the other 4 slots filled with randoms. It seems that regardless who the extra randoms are on our team, 3 of us can't carry a game. We will always do very well but the other 2 randoms seem to feed / give up their lanes and fail misserably. Just the other day we saw an amumu building as support, not AP or tank but support. Most useless amumu ever.

We also had a blitz who was building for damage but could not hit an arm for his life and would complain whenever we initiated a fight without him and lose. He did a lot of "hero name here".... but he was never around to help, or he'd try and clean up after and go in 3v1 and die. People have no common sense and I've found its hard to find suitable team mates who have map awareness and communicate / work well with you. It's oh so frustrating.

 

They probably play twitch. The amount of times I've seen a twitch player be there for a 5v5 only to stand there invisible making it a 4 v 5 and then after we've all died because we were a man down, they try to 1v5 only to be insta-nuked by their caster the moment they de-stealth.

I still think creating a channel on PVP net when your on league called bittech would be the easiest way to go. If someone is on you can invite to a game, have a group discussion etc. Though if there's a lot of us then the room could get crowded

 

It must be inherent for Twitch players to be a bit slow >.>

It reminds me of the lovely little conversation that went between me and another Twitch one:

Me: "Who exactly are you focusing in fights?"
Twitch: "Ezreal"
Me: "Why? Go for Annie"
Twitch: "Annie only has burst, Ezreal has DPS so does more damage over the course of the teamfight"
Me: "/Facepalm"

And yes, this is after numerous teamfights where Annie has consistently and constantly Tibbers dropped Twitch and insta-killed him.

Started a Masters this year and have only taken my laptop.

Thought i'd be able to get in the occasional game of League but apparently the best it can muster is an average of 20fps with all the settings on low.

Am rather surprised i was actually still able to win my game yesterday ;>.

 

That sucks! I attempted to play the game on my girlfriends laptop over the weekend (she was playing it on my PC, attempting to ge tthe hang of the game). It averaged 6 FPS. Seriously it wasn't fun. I took Yi, in every fight i hit 'E, R, 4 (ghostblade), Right click enemy' and then crossed my fingers, hoping I'd actually kill someone when the screen caught up with what was happening.

I'm likely to be getting a laptop in the next few months, and the ability to play LoL on it will definitely be a requirement I think.

I was playing Talon and thankfully ended up 3/1/7. The first kill was on a Garen where my Akali had done all the work whilst i was unable to coordinate anything and just after she died i managed to catch him with an ignite. Second kill was on a low HP Talon by Ult'ing and then managing to land the Blink for all the Blade's to catch him.

Basically none of them were actually me using any skill whatsoever .

A shame really as had i actually had a decent system i think we would have destroyed them... i even refused to 1v1 a Wukong who was only Level 9 when i was Level 12 (and he wasn't fed at all).

But either way, a win is a win and makes a decent change after the recent spat of losses... ironic considering i was playing with such a handicap as well.

I know it wasn't the best when it came out, but i deliberately chose it just because it had dedicated graphics instead of Intel integrated. Not to mention it's played Devil May Cry 3 and Knights of the Old Republic without much issue (although now i do remember a nice slowdown in DMC3, but only in the last level).

I guess that 4 years hasn't been kind to integrated graphics ;>. I've been considering a new laptop, but with the new Ultrabooks coming out and "promised" to be ~$1000 i think i'll hold out for them =X.
