Sites on how to solve simultaneous equations probably don't get a whole lot of traffic, nor do they have a ton of people linking to them. Bit-tech, OTOH, is relatively high-traffic and frequently linked-to, which boosts the result ranking - so, when such a thread pops up, it'll get ranked higher because it's on a more highly-ranked site.
