sooooo here it goes. i will open the contest the 31.03.2010 at 12h00 but before i want to make sure that i pick a theme that everyone likes. the contest will have the same rules as last time, except that it will be 1 month long and 1 month for voting. prices will be announced later. so here are the themes i thought would be intressting: -micro-atx gaming pc, as small and as powerful as possible -mini-itx gaming pc, as small and as powerful as possible -pico-itx case, a media centre pc or what ever you'd want it to be used for. - a bit-tech themed computer. if the bit-tech staff are fine with that or if you have any other ideas, feel free to tell me
We need to have a fixed motherboard we should use from the SCC collection - maybe my ECS board for m-ATX? (I might end up building one of the designs (for myself)) Although with m-atx i may have an advantage as all my designs (outside of the contests) have been m-atx for a year or so.
darky give it to us hmm but i gotta finish my cnc first..... otherwise, bit tech theme ( all for fp, fp for all )
M-atx sounds great would be cool if everyone had to use the same mobo model as standard and the rest is free form .
I thunk either a standard set of components in it (excluding cooling) or design it for someone so it's actually got a use theme rather than I mobo size theme (could design one for me). For the first one having the componnts somewhere would make it better.
having a standard set of component is a really good idea, therefor i started to work on this: i will make a water cooled version and air cooled version.
also i think that it would be better if it was only the "main" hardware; motherboard, gpu, ram. and not psu and hard drives
Would definitely be interested in competing this time, though will have to see how long it takes to competently use autodesk inventor.
Looks cool dark, I agree with the main components idea but maybe Just leave the GFX and CPU cooling up to contestants, think there is a lot out there that like making custom heat-sinks/water blocks
