I interviewed with a solar cell company in Madison in 1981. Would have been there but Bell Labs bought me for Colorado. No interview just spent the day in a bar drinking beer and singing German bar songs. In German! Small company and knew I was qualified just wanted to know if I would fit in. "Die Gedanken sind frei" Hell Yeah Wisconsin! john
So I'm thinking we could split up America such as NE, SE, NW, SW, Hawaii and Alaska(way to go you two). We may need to go finer than that since America is biiiiiiiiig to a college student with little money. (Well, not to big since I already drove across it to get to college)
Man, parties sound like such a great idea until you punch some locations into google maps. There's meeting random geeks to laugh about games, and then there's driving 250 miles to meet random geeks and laugh about games. The latter is just not feasible
If it's somewhere nice in the USA (eg Hawaii, or anywhere else nice in the world, for that matter), would bit-tech sponsor it and pay for travel and accommodation? Oh, btw, bit-tech you're the best! If so, can I come please?! wormy SE Greater London
I think it'll be Spec, Whisperwolf and I holding up the Scots contingent. Even then only two of us are in Edinburgh.
I'm heading to Vegas for the week of Thanksgiving (the US version, at least). Anyone want to meet there?
