Great stuff. I'll definitely use this over my old choice of dealtime/shopping.com

One question, when stuff appears in the wrong category (mobos, HSF in CPUs) is this down to the retailers messing up on thier feeds?

Doesn't matter mate :) We don't get paid per click, so the whole "but i don't click on them anyway!" argument doesn't hold up ;)

There's also no need to "start clicking" - by all means click on stuff that you genuinely want to click on, but adding 10 clicks for us 'just because' is also a bit daft :D

As has been said a billion times before, we really bust our balls every day to bring relevant, decent advertising to the site. It stops us from having to resort to those horrid ads such as those that randomly underline words like this and all sorts of other nasty methods of generating revenue that'd eventually kill us :)

Take a look at this site - that's what we'd have to turn into. Red areas = advertising. Awful isn't it?!

The thing is that I didn't think that I used ads for ages. Then I started to click ones as they become more relevant.

Bit-Tech is still the only site where ads work for me.

Great stuff, just noticed it last night and was surfing it a bit, shame I already made a recent purchase but I was glad to find out that the prices I paid weren't that much off the lowest offer!

Bit-tech is a competitor to them. We have a forum, and don't ban people for being normal.

How can they be a competitor? Bit-Tech don't sell anything.

Personally I buy most of my stuff from them, would be nice if I could compare the prices.

They're a little backwards, that lot (OcUK). They absolutely refuse to spend a even a penny on advertising and refuse to believe that other retailers exist. On their forums you can't even link to a site that has advertising for another site. By their logic any website, even if it was a website about cookery, would be a competitor if they had an ebuyer (or whatever) banner. They're mad :)

That's a shame on their part.

Understandable that you wouldn't include prices for a company that isn't willing to advertise...

I'm not sure how these shopping comparison sites work, I assume the host (Bit-Tech in this case) do not get 'paid per click' as it were?

    Wow. Awesome Job guys.

    Dumb comment/question though…
The content is absolutely there, but why in the name of god did you break up the flow of the website? Move that content into the current sites layout and you have yourself an winner for sure, but as it stands right now, it seems disconnected from the overall bit-tech feel, might as well could have been its own site (IE: completely other site completely unconnected to bit-tech)

mmm........searched for a Nikon D80 and get one seller.

Price grabber dont compare with Jessops or even play.com???? Play has alot of bargins sometimes and would look good on here.

Well you are using price grabber.

EDIT: play is on but did not bring back a result for a Nikon D80 which they do sell. So guess the search engine is dud

Play and Jessops are signed up, but retailers choose what to be included in - so if you don't see Jessops for the D80, that's because they don't want to be listed on that page even though they sell the D80 :) Of course next week they may decide to be included on that page, in which case they'll appear ;)
