oh yeah and when searching by manufacturer it doesnt seem to cancel the previous out

so you end up searching for acer in apple or something

Filters 'add up' when you add multiple filters from one filter set.

For example, selecting Apple and Acer will give you Apple AND Acer stuff.

We thought about this and it's a valid question. The current site design didn't really work for shopping - we couldn't feasibly get a big menu in across the top of the site and putting the existing site navigation on the top would also be quite confusing ("huh? why don't i get hardware deals when i click hardware?" the same for gaming too).
We also don't want to detract from bit-tech's editorial content. That is what bit-tech is all about. Shopping will complement it, but it isn't a part of it. Difficult to explain :thumb:

    Would be good if there were a filter in monitors -> LCD -> resolution for 1680 x 1050 - for some reason it jumps from 1280 x 1024 to 1600 x 1200 to 1920 x 1200

will you add prices for the rest of Europe in Euro's, or is this feature US/UK only?

Any chance of putting in whether a product is in stock at supplier?

nice, it could do with a few more filters though, such as HDCP for televisions and monitors

edit: also i was just looking for a 22" monitor and when i applied the filter for "> 21 Inches" it only gave 5 results even though there should be alot more

edit2: when moving along pages of results, it adds more filters just named "Filter" and clicking these filters to try remove them either does nothing or it removes all the filters i've applies.

There's loads of products not being listed at the moment for whatever reason. I have been assured that we are working to get that corrected though. :)

Just a thought, but the filters in the Hard Drive section are pretty useless.
Some of the bigger filters such as >5TB dont have any results.

Seems like a waste of space in the filter section to include filters that dont display any results.

Click the huge button saying 'US Prices' at the top.

    Ah. I hear ya.

OK, cool. thanks, the thought of it was bugging me for a while there. (maybe make the link blank instead of linked to the parent as to cause the link to open an new window so people dont lose their nav. on the original site... or something...) But thanks for the reply, ill be sure to use it for my upcoming rig.

    Little tip: Tecno.com, cameras2u.com, shopping4u.com, satnav2u.com .. They're all Jessops-owned in one way or another.

You'll usually find the cheapest prices for anything photographic between them, and if one's missing something the others will still have it most-likely... And they're [obviously] all UK companieswhich is a bonus (when you've dealt with pixmania.co.uk, you'll understand).
