I openly admit that I have little-to-no interest in computer modding as such. Full case mods occasionally get my interest but to me, a computer is a tool and I wouldn't put a window in a hammer ;)

I do like my PC hardware though. I'm seriously out of the loop at the moment - too many other commitments. I need to update soon - I'll get back into hardware when that time draws near.

    PS:
    main rig - XP1800+, GF4MX400, 2x120Gb, 1x80Gb, 1x40Gb
    server 1 - PIII 850MHz, 4x200Gb, PCI gfx
server 2 (not used much) - dual PIII Xeon, 2x200Gb, PCI gfx
firewall - K6-2 140MHz, 10Gb, PCI gfx, PCI ADSL modem, NIC (not in use at the moment, will be when I get pornband back.)

hehe i know what you mean, i find most 'modding' a bit of a gimmic relly. All this sticking computers in the most stupid thing possible (toaster??) and making a case themed on an imaginary computer game isnt how it should be.

but i guess whatever floats your boat is fine with me :thumb:

Unmodded (bar the blue LED) YY Cube on the floor to the extreme right hand side of the hifi....there does seem to be loads of us with YY Cubes actually :worried: Mister_Tad has one as well I think!

I did have a lightly modded Coolermaster 200 case as well, but I'm not using it at the moment...its under a desk at home, empty. Meant to sell it but never had time before I left for uni.

my floor is clean, it's only under the one desk where kit is oozing from underneath it. My main desk is a little untidy at the moment (the one with the shuttle on it), but that's because I've just reinstalled windows on my main rig over the last couple of days. :)

The other desk is always pretty untidy, because I'm swapping XYZ in to various rigs on a typical day. ;)

I fell out of case modding properly a couple of years back. When it was in its infancy i was right there with it on this site, but now im just left in the dust compared to the people on here. I change my cases only for cooling efficiency now.

And i do think Bit mods have the majority of YY cubes in britain, we should be sponsered or something by YY.

Exactly - some of the stuff that you guys come up with is amazing, it puts my work back in 2001/2 to shame. I really don't have the time or money to design and realise some of the ideas I have/have had in the past. :)

It's cause the industry has evolved. Back in the day everything was more "underground" and having a "window" in a case, or even and alu case was considered revolutionary. Now you get cheap tat everywhere which i suppose is a consequence of our forum (all you great guys n gals :D) and others revolution and changing the industry. One of the few times the enthusiast community has almost compeltely dictated market change and it makes me feel good to be a part of it.

    :)

yep, I see premodded stuff made by manufacturers at trade shows and think to myself... "didn't I see that on bit-tech's forums about a year ago?"

quite often I'm right... they've just taken the idea and developed it so that it can be put in to volume production without a great deal of cost to the manufacturer.

Agreed, What we need to do now is think of a new revolutionary idea thats not so mainstream to occupy our time :naughty:

Have to agree. Everytime I think of a way to improve my case(s) google normally brings up a case that already has all the features I'd want implemented.
