I voted for The Inquirer. bit-tech's news reports are shoddy and they just copy what everyone else is talking about. l'INQ actually finds its own news and makes facile comments, which are fantastic, as well as actually questioning companies when they make statements.
Here is an example of their "own news?" (They don't give the URL for this either.) Here: We had this one day before Inquirer. Also, it's an ARSTechnica article that they talk about, it's not their original story. For those who cant be bothered to go to page 1 of this thread, here is the link again: http://www.sitestandings.com/index.php And i voted as well Sam
Erm, obviously you can find exceptions Gooey_GUI. A lot of the bit-tech content is very good. It's just that I prefer the inquirer. AFAIK, they have a much bigger and more experienced, and IMO witty, team. They do seem unprofessional, immature and completely, pathetically speculative at many points, but as long as you can see that and filter it out, it's a much better online publication than BiT. ch424
I guess if you are going to be that narrow, and slant everything towards such a miniscule facet of bit-tech, then you aren't really picking a site with more to offer. There is a lot more to a computer enthusiast's preferences than some stale news. ` ` ` `
RSS feed?? You mean that I can read news from sites that have an RSS feed? I wonder if that would tell me if there is news "somewhere" that I may or may not be interested in. (Is that called filtering?) http://www.bit-tech.net/rss.html ` ` Not being too droll I hope, I know there are "some" sites that are more witty than here too. Ah, but do they have an RSS feed? I'll stick to feed readers to do the filtering for now. As for comparing apples to oranges, "online publication" vs web site, I would look to a web site. (with forums) ` ` `
What. I think he means bit-tech is the only site to have its latest news/articles listed on this voting site via RSS. Also, completely off-topic, what's up with all the backticks?
Bit-tech is not the only site with a news feed. That I can say for sure. The news that is available at sitestandings is there because bit is the only one to feed it. There are many sites' you can access feeds through their web site. (with a feed reader) It's not OT, because of the voting remarks before this post in the thread. As far as the back ticks go, I've got to see the doctor soon. ` ` `
That's exactly what I just said. Read my post. Yeah I wasn't referring to the RSS comment as offtopic. Generally when something is in a separate sentence and is before another point, it refers to the second point.
Whatever the words, the intent should be clear by now. .won yb raelc eb dluohs tnetni eht ,sdrow eht revetahW
