How about the next generation of consoles with enough power to rival pc titles? then cross platform releases wouldn't be a problem?

But on the wishlist front, I'd love an Intel core i3/Gigabyte ud2h/4gig ram bundle...would go nicely with my o/c'd graphics card and F3 1TB and 500GB, wouldn't mind a raven rv02 t put it in either so fingers crossed.

Kitten sounds nice, but you should stick to a stir-fry instead of roasting it ;)

    This.

VALVe, give this boy his X-mas wish. Don't wait for the next generation consoles to release HL:3/2E3(Portal 2?)

I don't think PC gaming can survive another console drought like this. If they ever make an upgradable XBox with KB/M support, I'm out.

Forget the bluray player, install a BDROM drive and rip your discs either to your PC or to a NAS so that you can stream them all over the house. Then put a WDTV Live in each room (<£90 each) and enjoy your media, music, movies in whatever format all over.

Be like Lee Majors, watch TV in the bath. With a cigar.

LOL @ loads quicker than a standard player. I doubt it's faster than my s370.

Well I hope for a Fanatec Wheel with Gran Turismo 5.

That and a GTX460, but that's quite a bit of expensive kit.

Outside of the materialistic world, I'd say....someone to love.

Don't you want somebody to love? Don't you need somebody to love? Wouldn't you love somebody to love? You better find somebody to love!

Thank you! A little Jefferson Airplane in the middle of the day is always welcome.

I didn't realise your s370 had a Cell CPU running at 3.2 Ghz, with 8 cores - all of which are useful when it comes to video. Or that the S370 had a hard drive for downloading more material than will probably ever be released to download via Blu-Ray. Or that the S370 had 256MB of high-speed RAM.

The PS3 makes a brilliant Blu-Ray player simply because as said before it's got masses of power so all of the features that end up on BDs end up running really smooth. It loads discs quickly. And it's always up to date with the latest profiles and updated encryption. The built-in WiFi makes the updating especially easy (I know some more expensive players also have WiFi - but the S370 doesn't so when it loads 'just as fast as a PS3', add in the time spent hooking it up to the network, waiting for the download & install, and then hooing back up to your TV). Also since Blu-ray is already HD and the whole signal is digital, the upscaler stuff is pretty much moot. If you want to play DVDs, a Pioneer is definitely better than a PS3 or S370.

S370 is a good player. But compared to a PS3? Nah.

PC exclusives! I thought I was the only one who gave a crap any more. Either that or a new motherboard with USB3 and an i7 to go in it, but that's not going to happen for a loooong time, seeing as how I'm totally broke now. But really, I would be happy if I got ANYTHING for Christmas. Get to a certain age and you stop hoping for presents, and instead are expected to be the provider of presents :(

For xmas, i would love Bit-tech to do an article on 3dmark 11 while no special optimised driver is out, to show which company really has the edge on new releases, which card has more pure grunt.

there, a reasonable xmas wish that doesn't require the unreliable santa.

A new XBox. I have a suspicion that the missus and the family teamed up to get me one, though... so that's cool.
    Other than that?
A RAM injection for the MBP (just another 2GB), a PC Upgrade (CPU, RAM, Motherboard, GPU), an iPad, new living room furniture.
