Does anyone have one of these? I can't seem to make mine do anything - it has a mind of it's own! whatever I set the fans to, they just climb up to max, I can't seem to save profiles as whatever I load isn't the profile I have saved. I am either missing something, or these controllers are pants haha. I have never owned a controller before, I thought I would jump on something that would be more snazzy than just dials on the front of my pc - starting to regret that decision!
Hi. Sorry to hear about your troubles. I personally have not used or indeed seen one of these, I shall ask for you if this behaviour is normal or if there is a setting or something being overlooked.
Matt, have you got it set to manual or auto? Mine is very well behaved if I make it do what I tell it to Never bothered with auto/remote stuff, I'm sat next to the rig when it's on and I speed the fans up when I'm gaming. I switch off the intake and roll the exhuast/rad fan down to 900rpm when not gaming. Just set it to manual, select the channel you want, press the fan icon, use the plus/minus buttons to change speed and then press the fan icon again. Rinse & repeat on each connected channel. If it's still buggering about on manual then it sounds like yours is misbehaving and needs a good spanking.
I removed all the temp probes if that makes any difference? I didn't want them all dangling around. I have it on manual - I press the fan, and it shows whatever I have set it to, then, if I press the fan again, it just goes up to full? Do you have your usb connected? I am thinking I will disconnect that. if I use the software - the fan goes to the speed I choose, then, slowly over 30 seconds ramps back up to full speed. the temp readings are all -1 as there are no probes connected. I didn't have time to give it any time last night but I will hopefully have a look at it tonight Thanks bro
I use the two temp probes on the channels it's controlling, just to show the airflow temps through the fans (intake & exhaust). But on manual that shouldn't make any difference to speeds. When I switch a fan on using the controller it spins up to full speed initially, then over around 30 seconds reduces down to the selected rpm. I'm controlling a Corsair AF140 and SP120. I think I have the USB plugged in, but I don't use it (the internet based speed control is of no use to me). I've only ever used the hardware interface.
I can't imagine it's that - I am using standard 3 wire fans, I am not even running multiple fans per channel - and the controller does manage to slow them down and report their speeds, it just ramps them back up again of it's own accord. I appreciate the response, but it is a bit of a cop out Maybe I need to factory reset it or something.
Thanks - I had a feeling that pulling all the temperature probes off wasn't going to be a good idea I will test - have no monitor at the moment, it's in pieces on my work desk as it was flickering so i am changing all the capacitors in it - and I ordered the wrong ones so waiting for the right ones to arrive now! But that should be fixed for the weekend so I will test it then. Thanks for your help.
