Can't say i've noticed a drop in seeds, quite the opposite infact, with ever new and improved BT clients, things only seem to be getting faster.

And at last the majority of users seem to understand the blocked port problems that were cuasing their BT to be slow, things are on the up for BT.

    no!

eDonkey is terrible. If the switch is the case, which I doubt... more likely users avoiding illegal files altogether. It could NEVER be because of eDonkey... its a shocking network! It has more queues than users.

I guess the study could be meaning that less people are leaving torrents seeding when they're done downloading? (i.e. downloading and closing the torrent straight away).

Could it be because the current season of Top Gear has finished and 60% of users of BT have stopped using it until the next season airs. :p

I think you mean, Lost, Simpsons, South Park, 24 and Family Guy - all air from the autumn onwards ;)

See, I've never got on with BT - always get crappy speeds (as low as 56k) which has always put me off...

I think the traditional P2P clients are far better - especially if you're looking for a particular file...
With BT, if it's not popular, it's gonna take a lifetime to download.

I think its bull ********, BT is still popular. Theres still a lot of seeds for things that are unpopular. It all depends on the site thats hosting the torrent. Its all about community.

Take pirate bay for example, that site used to be great. The community as a whole their used to always be nice in their posts in torrents, they used to help each other out, etc. etc. Now you have noobs coming in asking how to burn .iso’s then other people flaming them for being noobs, or people (mainly American’s) yelling at posters for posting foreign based media (even though it’s a Swedish site!). The communities gone to crap… a long with other sites.

If the communities were better more people would use the sites I think. I still think newsgroups > all.

Personally, I would much prefer to use BT than edonkey. I've used both, and ED is far inferior.

Wow, that sounds exactly like me. Mind you it's only for backup purposes. Why have a VCR when you have a PC!

But seriously, who in their right minds would use eDonkey? BT is where it's at, or failing that, newsgroups, or DC++, or even (dare I say it?) Gnutella. :worried:

I think eDonkey is absolutely horrible, especially the queue stuff. BT is so much better. I do not see it halting anyway.
