earlier som eone mentioned "purple LED's" i didnt even know these existed or was he referring to uv LED's becasue they appear sort of purple ^^ also i think the new led will be the new led's with ic's built in to them. you can soon get led's that do what the "rainbow led" does. they fade in and out of the spectrum and have a few varuious other patterns, sounds cool to me^^

That was me. www.eled.com had them and they were purple but I think they sold out. And then www.frozencpu.comhas them only in 5mm. The ones on www.eled.com were uv and they were purple. Trust me, I know my colors. ;)

Found it. Here's the pic of the fan with purple LED's.

and the link to the purple LED's http://www.frozencpu.com/cgi-bin/frozencpu/ele-41.html

And I just noticed that they carry the bloo LED light switches on that web site. :dremel: :D

    I vote RED!

Why? Because everyone ELSE is blue.
Going to a LAN looks like a cattle fest of blue.
Where as my all RED lighting PC is TOTALY offset from the rest.

Thinks that I have converted to total Red?

I think that is all of it :D

    Blue is overdone.

    Next PC?
Flames, using nearly every LED flame type color
    White, Blue, Yellow, Orange, Red
(Or some SUPER bright RGB leds if I can find them)

The 1st case I did had a big silver/green theme going on, then the blue LED's came out, something that if I hadn't seen it yet then no one else must have either, so I went with that from then on. Even though it's way too overused now, I still like it, but lately I've been gravitating more toward white and a little UV simply because things that glow are awesome :D .

And white LED flashlights are the BEST thing I've used in a long time - check out www.flashlightsunlimited.com

yeh, the way i see it, a lot of people seem to like blue - but then who cares really

when i mod my case i do soimething that i want to do - i dont do it because someone else has, i do it because i think it looks good

so if u like blue rock on! but then again almost any color mod looks cool if done properly

    Cheers

Hey zap, I have a PC with mostly green LEDs and a few blue(if you don't count the LED screen(if you do, you will find 786,432 red, green, and blue LEDs in it)).
My network switch has green LEDs, so it matches with my PC very good.

yeah sure bloo leds have been used a lot lately but...... why all the fuss? most of them are just randomly stuck onto a PC with no real reason for being there. Might as well do the job properly-- if you do bloo always looks best. after all what colour is these forums, isn't it better than red ones? also look at the smilies lol :) see any red there? apart from the wall and the blush :):hip:

I don't have a problem with the color blue; it's more the way blue is spelled in |337, my eyes glaze over at every mention of "bl00 this, bl00 that"

not sure if anyones said this, cant be assed to read it all, but i find the colour depends on its surroundings, like on a steel/alu type thing blue looks best, but on black nothing looks better than reds. not sure what green goes with, i just dont use greens :D

I agree with Shuriken, the case colour does effect what kind of colour you go for, even the motherboard colour could effect the light scheme.

But when your acrylic case turns up in bl00, what else can ya do!:p

[picky] actual colour temp wise, blue is hotter than red[/picky]
I always thought blue leds looked good cause of the small amount of uv that they produce, making them look a bit different to other leds that only produce visible light,
also maybe worth mentioning blue is a higher power colour cause of its shorter wavelength?
just my two pence (ps my case is red, blue and black, wow i'm mr original :) )

i know if you are going to have a flame, then a really hot flame is blue and a moderately hot flame is red,,

    BUT
this is the way most people see it

    ICE is BLUE

    Fire is RED

That is how a lot of people get their mental associations with colour and heat. just my 'two cents'

Green and black go well together, and (with the right accents) give a nice "cyberpunk" kind of feel.

    well... sorta.
