Amazing little NAS. To think I was considering just thowing some stuff in an old case and hiding it somewhere. Beautiful work.

Can't believe so little space between the drives still only see's 44 degree's C at load. I thought it was going to turn out to be the equivalent of an electric fire with four bars on, roasty toasty.

Nice build by the way, wish I had that sort of equipment.

Cheers for the additional info, makes perfect sense.

I too didnt know you could bend lexan like that, especially thick stuff- a hinged lid or some sort of autobot type opening/ access mech would be handy for sure as noted, but I just love the way it looks- if I ever collect enough... 'material' to need that much storage, I'll keep this project in mind.

    Well done once again. :D

Lexan is nice like that; you can bend it without adding heat like you need to do with acrylic. But, it is a bit more prone to scratching than acrylic. So, trade-offs as usual.

Sweet build. I always love watching your videos of the builds. Always well worth watching. I wish I had a place like that to work. So hard working in a 1 bedroom apartment with only a small balcony. Keep it up, as I can't wait to see what you have in store for us next!

From personal experience, 3/16" lexan would ideally need to be heated from both sides to avoid forming bubbles. I didn't realize you could bend it like metal, it completely sidesteps that problem!

Nice build! I like the approach, basically a "HDs to the face" style!

That's gorgeous! Two questions, is it ok to have an exhaust fan without an intake? Would it be cooler if there's an intake/exhaust fans? Regardless, this is one cool mod sir. Nice!

This just became my favorite NAS-build of all times.. Very nice design, very nice construction and also a great project log with good pics. 5/5 and lots for others to learn from.
