Hello, this forum definately seems like the best place to go for modding, so here I am. To the point: I am interested in installing a tachometer (example) utilizing this software. I wish to put it on the front of my case, so I need a double or preferrably a triple, blank, bay insert that I can drill a hole out of. Problem is, of course, I have no idea were to locate one. LCD distributors such as Matrix Orbital have double inserts, but already have a hole cut in them that will leave empty corners sticking outside around the tach. A triple insert would be preffered, so I could put something like this in, but I'll settle for a double... Thanx in advance!
i would bend a giant piece of plexi in to a giant C and mount that to the drive bay, then you can paint that to whatever you want. or you could just mount this bad boy to the front of your computer under the 3.5" drive bays.
I am using an aluminum Lian Li case, specifically the 6077. There are pre-made options then? I've seen aluminum sheets for sale, could I cut and bend those with relatively simple tools?
well you could bend it sure but having it look good is going to be hard. you would want to get your hands on a bender for that work. a bender is a special setup that is ment for bending sheets of metal. most metal shops have them and i am sure that if you cut it yourself and take the sheet to a metal shop in your area they wouldn't mind helping you out at all.
Get some blanking plates off an old case, then you can paint them whatever colour you like. Might need some modding to fit
If you custom cut a window, use the material that you cut out. Or indeed, just find a place that sells the side panels cheap and pick one up and start hacking it apart. IIRC, performance-pcs.com had some LL side panels for ~$10-15 or something (I got a spare too, as I had a window that went wrong, not sure if they're still cheap though)
well u could just cut a piece of plexi big enough for 3 bays cut the hole and then just a couple metal strip with holes at the ends screwed into the mounting holes for a cdrom.. good luck
