Also, 1398342003, why did you post the same message twice, and edit it... it look confusing and weird... I though I got two emails for the same new post

It's basically a lockdown program used in schools and public places to prevent users from accomplishing certain tasks.
    Here's from their website:

Cool. Our school district uses a similiar program. Easy to hack. For me at least... for win 9x systems, just delete the line in config.sys, and then save and pull out the power plug... Shutting down saves a log of changed files, then when booted up, it changes stuff back. Well, sort of. but it worked.

This one sounds a bit harder to hack. But I'm sure it is possible.

My net connection is acting weird after the reinstall, I may have hit submit 2X and it took it wrong. Sorry.

My school uses a program called deepfreeze to stop users from changing the systems. Reboot and it resets the drive.

At school we have Fortress, our plan is to boot into phlak and get the SAM file, then crack it :)

So, when your brothers PC crashed, was it something you did?

I think Deep Freeze has a cash reward if you can crack it and get around it.

Thouhg I like it, it erases all the history and everyhing when you restart, make sure thay aren't going to somehow get my email after I look at it in school.

    Short answer: Yes.

Long answer: I rebooted it and the system hung during windows starting, I reset the machine and the partition was wiped.

Sounds like a virus (It's happened to me, once I DLed a file that was suppsoed to be a windows xp cd crack and it fuxored my PC, although i was able to save the files. But now I use legit OSes.), the question is, did you put it there?

No, I didn't put the virus on his comp, I suspect that it was his P2P prog or something that came from MSN messanger.

The end result is however, positive. He now has a limited account, he cannot install ANY programs, and if he could, the permissions would be against him.

I don't use Legit OSes since Win 98. I got a copy of Win XP Pro corperate. Registration not required. :D

I used to use it, but now I jus tuse a legit copy of Windows 2000. None of that user-friendly BS, and AFAIK some XP-only bad programs won't affect me.

A friend of mine bought or stole a copy of XP corporate and burnt me a copy. From what I can tell, when you buy the additional licences they give you a copy that doesn't need to activate within 30 days.

I dumbed down the XP interface, it's like a fancy version of 98 now, MS only made four real OSes: Dos, Win 98, Win 2K, and Win XP, and my evil piracy history is like this:

    1. Get a copy of Win 98 from a friend to replace my lost copy.
    2. Install the same copy of 98 on 3 different comps.
    3. Copy the harddrive of my aunts comp that has ME on it.
    4. Format ME and reinstall 98 3 hours later.
    5. Get a copy of Win XP.
    6. Install on 4+ comps.

So what you mean to say is you went out and bought legal copies of all the os'es you've ever used and would never think of using a non legit version?

The rule is against "...requests or 'promotion' of such activity..." I was simply stating that I have done it. :worried:

The copy of XP was 'legit' in a sort of 'non' way.
