They do everything else so well, it seems like a plausible suggestion...

dynamic IP address' and what if you get a new computer with your ebay winnings?

 

i'm glad i pretty much stopped using ebay quite a while ago -- it's becoming (became?) an utter joke.

i really need to find somewhere else i can go though. i wish there was a serious competitor. i keep finding places, but... they just don't feel like ebay used to :/

 

This is what happenes when we listen to marketing folks who suggest new features without understanding the implications of said new features.

have you seen there new search engine crap! what F***tard came up with that, its beyond crap! takes twice as long to find anything!

just because the old look of ebay was becoming a little dated, why change the way it functions

if it aint broke dont fix! if there has been a decline in the amount of sales tranactions though ebay then it might be because of there money making greed, not the way there search engine worked!

 

Somebody on the Round Table forum said it wasn't done by IP address (I was wrong) but was done with Flash cookies that are hidden and that they are a security risk, something about the potential for getting at all files on your PC.

god the amount of crap marketing want without thinking through is a joke i just got asked to build a site search feture for our companie's website which is fine in itself, but the website is only 10 pages in sizes and everything is accessible form the menubar

 

urrrrrgh. they're losing the plot.

as for the new "look" of ebay and the search engine change -- has it come out of beta now? last time i used it you could go back to the "classic" look by opting out of the beta. has that gone now and that we're now stuck with the changes?

 

and they never thought about the sh*tstorm that unleashed against sony when they put hidden files on pc's?

good bye ebay, was nice while it lasted.

 

This is starting to sound very serious (for ebay), have we confirmed that this is really going ahead? Or was it just for "X people in Y area for a trial period of Z"?

(And yeah, I tried reading the thread again, but it made my head hurt.)
