    I don't see the big deal with fireworks anyway, they were impressive once, but that was when I was 5-10. Now they're just loud, bright annoying things.

    I also think that they should put the age for buying/possessing upto 21, or better yet a license.

    Bonfire night is hell for Fire fighters.

    Yeah right all the chavs are buying fireworks to celebrate the monarchy being saved from assassination. :duh:

    AS CPEmma has pointed out its not a one day event, it stretches out to 3-4 weeks of constant banging and whistling which actually gets worse after Nov 5th as they are then all on sale. I would actually be up for a ban of fireworks to the public tbh.

    I don't think banning them is fair, however i do think they should be put on sale on the morning of the 5th and removed from sale at around 9pm. That would prevent the early ones being let off, it would probably put the price up as well since many shops wouldn't bother stocking leading to lower competition. Licences would be nice but unworkable and keeping the age at 18 but requiring id from under 21 would be fair.
