ok well i bought a couple 1.00 92mm fans thinking i can make a fan funnel for my heatsink, made it, increased my temps by 10, so now im stuck with 1 92mm fan and a grill ( the other fan was cut up) so i kinda wanna make a blow hole i have a bit of room for it, a lil bit of the fan will be above the optical drive cage but i have my fan controller in there so it wont matter I have a raidmax 868, the top is riveted i believe to the case, id rather not have to take all my crap outta the case. Mainly becuz wehn i i try to mod i always end up not being able to do it so i end up wasting time and having to put everything back in, id rather not do that so is it possible to take just the top off? is there only the 2 rivets in the back? how would i make it? i dont have a hole saw, im kinda scared to use the dremel (i always freak out) and i have a jig saw also but i dunno which blades can cut metal since there all scattered about, what do i do? also WILL this help my temps? because my psu fan is right there, its not on the bottom its on the side (parallel to the exhaust fan on the psu) so would that screw up anything? cuz i dont wanna have cut a dam hole in my case and find out that it made my temps worse than before like with the fan funnel
I would advise you to buy a holesaw, they are wicked. As far as the blade for cutting metal goes, they are the ones with smaller teeth and really close together. I would say the blowhole could help temps yes.
well i dont wanna spend all this money on a hole saw just to cut 1 fan hole if it was 80 then sure, since then i can put 2 or something but 92s arent really used very often, 80's are probly most common then 120
Yes, there are probably more than 2 screws for your top case panel. If you take off the front panel (where are the bays are 'n stuff) then there will probably be 2 more screws.
