    Ok... I'm truly crappin' meself over this one, You see I want to blowhole my ClearPC, but I'm worried as heck that I'm going to crack the acrylic or something, I need to drill an 80mm hole and a smaller 40mm hole.. I have 2 sharp holesaws, whats the best angle of approach? Drill a small pilot hole first then go slowly?

    If It cracks I'm gonna cry!!!

    Aaaanddd... as for finishing it off I persume sand it down with fine paper then use a drill buffer?

    I was drilling acrylic last nite (made a practice window etch using n00b screwdriver to scratch surface, damn I'm ghetto :)). Drilling that stuff is teh bad if u ain't using a drill press!

    Make sure u use a proper drill press and it's clamped down VERY sturdily. Acrylic just loves cracking, other than that, just make sure u mask off non-scratch areas.

    Good luck mate. Be afraid, be very afraid :worried: :eeek:

    I agree, at least do a test piece with some similar material to make sure your process is sound or oooohhhhh. Just remember that when drilling or sawing acrylic to go sloooowwwwww. Pressure is usually the culprit to cracked acrylic.

    Pressure = Crack
    RPM = Meltage

    If you have a drill with a variable RPM speed, slow that bugger down! I don't know if you've ever seen it happen Paul, but the heat from a fast turning hole-saw will kinda warp the other side of your hole. Result being LOTS of CAREFUL, PAINSTAKING filing :( :(

    MrDT, you've seen the warehouse, don't insult me by asking me if I have a speed variable drill pphht, of course I do :D

    Yeah, I thought if I just to nice and slow, well not too slow and just let the weight of the drill do the work...

    No drill press but plenty of hand drills and my steady hands... :)
    I got a range of drills, though I think I'll use gringo's DeWalt drill... I could use the concrete muncher but It weighs nearly as much as me!!!

    I wish I had steady hands. Low blood alcohol level causes me to permanently have the shakes. Baccy cravings dunnae help either! :hehe:

    I have the same case but not the proper tools for the job. Shame because a top fan looks well good in this case have you seen HI-TEK,s article over at modthebox he puts 3 extra blowholes in, might be worth picking up some tips off him.

    i used to clamp on ply with some felt but i agree with the idea of a drill press it would be a better oprion.

    also practice on a peice of plexy before you do the job i wrecked an awfull lot before i got it right.
