I had emailled them a while back with my intent to pre-order these too. The way I see it, in either case I will not order these from eimod, here's why: If you believe his story and he was hacked... am I going to buy from someone who's site is vulnerable to that? Hell no. If you don't believe his story, I don't feel comfortable buying from someone engaging in this level of juvinile activity to hock a handful of switches... again, hell no. Besides, thanks to this thread (btw, I love bit-tech for this forum for exactly this reason) I now have alternate avenues to get these switches...
Dear Jason, This is not a stock item for Bulgin so delivery would be 7 weeks - please contact your local Allied or Newark office for pricing. Best Regards, Gary Blah. Emailing Allied Electronics now, saying I'm representing several buyers. Requesting pricing on 10+ (sound good?)
I was going to get one blue and one red... I'm not married to the red. I must have a blue one and another of any other color, I don't really care which, just prefer red.
Maybe that is why Robbie123 was trying so hard to sell them. Still no excuse. Any word on actual wholesale prices?
Bulgin says: Dear Jason, This is not a stock item for Bulgin so delivery would be 7 weeks - please contact your local Allied or Newark office for pricing. Best Regards, Gary Allied said: I am not sure what you want. MPI002 is available in green or red. That appears to be the only options. See data sheet on other email. Heh. I popped open the data sheet and pointed out to him that they can come specially ordered with blue LEDs. Hell, I have one installed in my case. Then he said he sent an inquiry to Bulgin, and the response will take an hour or more. So, I'm waiting. ...
Well the Red and Green Switches at Allied run: 1-24 $17.50 25-49 $16.07 50+ $14.28 So someone would have to order 50 for it to start paying off. Man thats sad, I memorized the page in their catalog. Its a great catalog by the way over 1000 pages of electronic goodness. mmm Page 893 If you really care
i would order from eimod but I don't feel like paying that price when I can get it direct from the manu for less.
Quick question about the buttons Can you wire the light up to something, and the switch to something else? Like make the power button light up when the power LED should be on, and make the reset button flash with HDD activity ala the leads off the MB?
Re: Quick question about the buttons Yes. And that's what mine is doing. Although the switch part is doing nothing currently.
Allied says I have to buy a minimum of 30 of these switches at $20 each, and I'd have to wait 7 weeks. Eimod's site says they're out of stock indefinitely. That's ****ing bull****. He said he had a stock of 500 and it'd be sickening if he couldn't sell them. Unless someone is certain they can sell 30 of these, and has the cash to front for them... Looks like we're SOL.
