I have a Hercules Prophet GTS 64MB (GeForce 2) videocard. The stock fan for the GPU came with a 2 pin wire connector connected to the videocard itself as a source of power. I bought a BlueOrb, which has a 3 pin adapter on the end, and was wondering if it's a good idea to replace the 3 pin adapter with a 2 pin adapter so that I can plug it into the videocard...

    Thank you.

assuming that the power requirements match it should be ok. Just make sure the draw of teh BlOrb is equal to or less than the draw of the stock fan. Off the top of my head I would guess that they are incompatible, but check the specs.

I don't know if the Blue Orb has rpm monitoring, but if it does, you could probably hook that into your mobo. If it doesn't, I would just cut the 3 pin off and solder on some wire and put in a 4 pin connector.
