Bought my first laptop today a Novatech nSpire 14 2450 though I have had others that I have played around with. The one thing I do know is I am not keen on the touch pad and prefer to plug in a mouse.

at the moment I have a wired mouse connected but I do also have a Logitech wireless mouse which the better half is using with her desktop. I am not keen on pinching that as the USB receiver is is quite large and would stick out quite a ways.

So I am looking for advice on either a wireless mouse with small receiver or should I look for a bluetooth option as using the wireless option would tie up a USB port?

    So looking for mice suggestions.

Look at Logitechs range of portable mice. Their receiver is no larger than the USB plug itself and Logitech has an excellent reputation for quality.

Thanks, but as I said it does tie up a USB port, but will certainly have a look.

I bought my laptop mouse a week before work bought me a laptop with bluetooth in it - I think, if I had the choice again I would get a bluetooth mouse, but my lappy has 4 usb ports, I have never used them all at once I don't think.

I use a logitech m505 and i love it, couldnt ask for more in a small portable mouse. - has a tiny receiver sticks out maybe 7mm at a guess.
