I am truing to find a title of a book so I turn to the all knowledgeable bit-tech community for assistance. I think I heard the book discussed on radio 4 but I have been through the listings for the last few months and cannot find one that matches. The description I can remember is pretty vague but here goes: Its set in an alternative reality where abortion is outlawed but once a child reaches the age of (i cant remember the age!) 16,18,21 or something like that the parent makes a decision as to whether to keep them or something else happens to them. Again I cant remember what! So, any ideas or do I give up looking?

That certainly looks like the one. I still cant find any mention of it on the radio 4 programmes but sounds like it. Added to my reading list. +rep
