I've recently discovered the joys of Tank Girl. Damn she's awesome!

Currently working my way through the re-mastered releases in chronological order.

How she's never made it into video games is beyond me!

Just finished The Humans by Matt Haig. It's really quite good.

It is, I wouldn't bother getting his a-z of humans (or whatever it's called) is mostly just bits borrowed from humans.

Just into book two of the Long Earth Saga, by Pratchett & Baxter. Standard is premise, but they're dealing with it in an interesting way.

Half way through Brandon Sanderson's - The Way Of The Kings - Stormlight Archive - Book 1

Really enjoying it and finding myself losing sleep as 'I will just finish this chapter'. It's a pretty huge book, but it flies by.

Just finished the two books (so far released) in the Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss which are

    The Name of the Wind
    The Wise Man's Fear

Two very good books and the story is exciting and very engaging. Bit annoying I have to wait for the third but couldnt stop reading either book so finished them fairly quickly (holidays helped there).

If you are in to fantasy books then I would heavily recommend it, there is a big of "magic", bravery, heroes and demons.

Totally agree, these are excellent books. I read them pretty much as they were released, feels like I have been waiting forever for book 3 - god knows if it ever will be published

Just finished reading The Martian. I really enjoyed the book, but found it ended very quickly, and would have liked a bit more towards the end.

I'm looking forward to the film, but judging by the book Matt Damon is an awful casting choice for Watney.

Recently read Hyperion by Dan Simmons, I really enjoyed it. Some really imaginative stuff in it and the writing is excellent - you will need a dictionary to hand at all times though (built in dictionary is on of my favourite features on kindle!). Started reading the second part, 'The Fall of Hyperion', which is also well written but I don't think the story is as good as in the first book.

I also read 'Touching the Void' by Joe Simpson almost in its entirety on an 8 hour flight. It's a reliving of when Joe and his friend climbed a mountain and got in some trouble (understatement!). It's the most gripping struggle of life and death that I've ever read.

19% in and loving it! :thumb:

Just yesterday I talked to my girlfriend about reading King feeling like getting home somehow. Been reading his books for 20 years now and they are reliably good reads with a familiarity that just feels good to me. And it is really nice to see his progression in style and craftsmanship over the years.

Can't wait for Bazaar of Bad Dreams!

Finished Assail by Ian Cameron Esslemont recently and apart from the reincarnated Andii cop out I thoroughly enjoyed it. Was apparently the last of the Malazan Empire series but have since read that ICE is doing an early empire book.

Am now part way through rereading the full Foundation series by Asimov. Not sure what to move on to after that.

Reading Robbin Hobbs Golden Fool. It's the 2nd book in the Tawny Man trilogy. If anyone read the Farseer trilogy, Fitz and the Fool are back!

Yesterday quickly read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Part 1) in a very interesting graphic novel adaptation by Denise Mina, Andrea Mutti, and Leonardo Manco.

    Good choice that man!
Absolutely cracking sci-fi, to me the main precursor/ancestor to all modern "space opera".

Yea I blasted through the first one once i got going with it and am loving the 2nd so far, look forward to the 3rd.

And yes I do agree with you, as does every sci-fi fan i have met who has read the books. Such an amazing series and considering how old it is, its stood the test of time oh so well.
