I'm posting for a friend here so forgive my lackluster details but I've since run out of ideas on how to troubleshoot
My friend has a Dell XPS 720 about a year and a half old. Exact specs are sketchy It does have a Creative sound card(whooppee) and a samsung hdd. After a recent move it wouldn't boot into normal windows(XP 32 bit) we tried going into safe mode and reinstalling some drivers after leaving only the keyboard mouse and monitor plugged in. After a reinstallation of Windows however, it would hang on boot right before the welcome screen even going into safe mode. There was a hiccup with the first windows installation after SP3 was installed it froze. Now it won't get past the loading screen. I asked him to try each stick of ram individually, same result. I'm thinking one more windows installation then calling dell and saying replacement drive plz, but what do the wonderfully talented minds of BT have to yield?

It's still under warranty but Dell tech support isn't exactly the quickest way of diagnosing something.
