Windows booting problem

    ok here is my hardware....
    P4 2.6
    Asus P4PE-X mobo
    512mb pc3200

    Here is the problem
    It is the first time booting the system
    and wat happens is it boots up and goes right into the bios (i cant stop it) and give me an error that says.
    "during the last boot-up your system hung for an improper CPU Speed setting. Your system is now working in safe mode. To optimize the system performance and reliabilty, make sure the CPU speed comforms to the specs of your CPU"

    and when i change it or even not change it and exit out of the bois it hangs and i have to reset

    ne idea?

    Have you tried to reset the comos and taking out the mobo battery?

    i did pop out the battery for 30 sec and put it bac kin (like my fried told me) and it didnt work....

    should i try it again

    The first time bios prompt is normal.
    But when you save and exit it should boot properly.
    Don't you notice anything strange in bios (ram,temps,hdds)?

    You can try to lower the speed of your cpu and see what happen.
