I dont know how we all did it with film cameras, just yesterday at the park i almost filled my 1 Gb card. Lots of those shots were double on continus shooting just so the 2nd could be better than the first but still it's close to 300 pics just walking around, which is unthinkable with a film camera. Praise the lord for digital loll
well i am a bit of a traditional gal i spent loads of my time at college processing my own films and loved it!
I've re entered the picture taking hobby lately, and i totally agree, starting with adding a bit to my addiction sig
The first step is admitting you have a problem. The second step is finding a reason why it's a bad thing. Being as I'm in a photography-specific program in college, I can see the spending getting more and more out of control. I'll be flat broke by the end and it won't be because of student loans.
The way "i" see it is it's not a bad thing, like modding my comp.i spend whatever surplus i have towards making it better and better but i will not like cut on the essentials or drown myself in debt to get a better camera or lens, it has to stay on the fun side. If ever i go over those boundaries (eating dog food sandwich for a week, 3 squares a day) to be able to aford that camera, i'll get help loll I have to admit though i'm thinking a bit too much about that D-80 Everything we do or love can go overboard, it's always up to the individual to keep it clean and fun
Well, I finally joined the dSLR club! Just got my brand new (& shiny) 400D! I'll take pics on sunday, I'm too busy taking pictures WITH it right now, so I can't be bother to take pictures OF it. What did I get? - 400D Body - 50mm F1.8 - Sandisk CF 2GB ExtremeIII I'm looking/saving for a used 17-40 F4 L & 70-200 F4 L. L
Congratz mate! BTW i don't think you'll find a 17-40 for cheap, especially with the 100 euro rebate from Canon a spankin' new one is very attractive. And which 50mm did you get the mkII or I?
Well. I have an "appoitment" to go check a used 17-40 L tomorrow. He's asking 100euro less then new-price after rebates. He claims it's in as-new condition. So I think it's a good deal. I got the plastic fantastic, 50mm F1.8 mkII, brand new. It's only 80euro's.. can't beat that for F1.8 . L
Just got back with my 17-40 F4 L !! It's in Mint condition, can't seperate it from a new one. Set me back 500euro's. I think it's a reasonable good deal. L
Just got a used BG-E3 (Grip) for my 400D this morning. You can seperate it from new though, it has a tiny scratch/dent on one of the corners. But other then that it looks great, works great too . Don't really need the grip that much, but it will come in handy on occassions. Especially if I get a bigger lens (still looking for a 70-200 F4 L). The CF card broke down though, already on its way back, should be getting a new one pretty soon! So can't take much pictures now.. but this gives me time to think about this months theme! L
Don't forget to register your cam and get that free 512MB CF. Checkout marktplaats for used lenses. I'm currently on top of a 28-70L and 70-200 f/2.8, it's getting out of hand!
I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade here (far from it, just bought a flash and 50mm f1.8 last week) but it seems like everyone's going gear crazy. I'd be interested to see how much time people spend looking at/lusting after new kit versus being out there taking photos, since it's something I don't do enough of myself.
