Without playing them all extensively it would be biased what we think. :)
All very nice & successful games there though. :)

Got quite a few of the games mentioned but only completed Dear Esther & Deadlight, quite different games & liked them both, which did I enjoy more, that would definitely be Deadlight.
I focus on modding too much so the gamer within has been getting neglected.

Question void due to people not playing them all to give fair opinion lol, I bet even Joe might not have played all of those games, 1 of them isn't a game, Nike fitness & if that is classed as a game it's the worst game imaginable & people would be better off using the dance game for keeping the calories burning, at least looking like an idiot is funny, laughing is a good exercise too, releases feel good endorphins, everyone needs them to stay awesome. :D:p

If rockstar are there ask if they are simultaneously releasing GTA for PC this time & hear them say next question. :hehe:
But yeah definitely prod Sir Gabe about HL3, prod him good lol. :D

Far cry 3 would be my choice for most of the categories its been entered.

As for multi-player, natural selection 2 would be my choice, hands down one of best multi-player experiences I've had, so its a shame its not even in the running.

Seconded, CoD Blops II innovation? really?

Only about 3 games out of the whole lot there I would recommend to anyone.
    Far Cry 3
    F1 2012
    Dishonored

Given the state of FC2 & F1 2011 their sequels are a bit of a nice surprise.

Only played a few of them on the list and none of them I think deserve to be in with a shot of winning a award.

Far Cry 3 is pathetic and has so many problems that I have only played it around a total of 8 hours.

Black Op's 2 whilst is fun, it's still the same as old COD games after COD 5 and there is no real innovation or great leaps in technical requirements.

Need For Speed Most Wanted is boring, with no story line and lacking in the graphical department and sound as well.

The others that I played are basically the same.

    Dick andDoms Hoopla? Really?

And I'm surprised Farcry 3 wasn't in music or performer, as these we two of its best features for me! Just reminds me why I ignore awards these days...

For me, this year, the voice over actor for Handsome Jack was by far the best performer. Not even nominated though.

That's not what the award means. It's for new studio debuts. Forza Horizon is the first game from new developers Playground Games.

I'm quite confused by this actually. I loved Mass Effect 3, even when everybody on the planet was ripping it to shreds over the ending and dlc debacle, but I didn't think it was better than Halo 4. So I'm surprised that Fifa (really??) is sitting there in the best game category instead. Also, story Thomas was Alone? Sorry that just doesn't make much sense to me, played it, thought it was fun but got old pretty quickly, nothing more to it really.

Personally, I really disliked Far Cry 3, although I think that's partially down to how everybody hyped it up so much to me that it ended up being a massive letdown. That and the fact that it deleted my save game only 4 hours in, I just couldn't muster the willpower to start again after that point.

    Warning: Fanboy rant.
Oh cool! One of my favorite game of the year (and last) got nominated... for one of the least fitting categories where it almost certainly will (and should, given the criteria) lose.

Best Action Game? Widely called more action/adventure than RPG, this only seems fitting.
Game Innovation? Unique multiplayer system, method of story telling, humanity system, challenging game design.
Artistic Achievement? Beautiful world and detailed world, given that it was originally for consoles.
Audio Achievement? Powerful soundtrack with equally powerful and impresive sound effects for the many enemies in the game.
Best Online Multiplayer? A unique and community based system unlike other games, a solid concept even though technical issues hurt it.
Best Original Music? Again, take a listen to the soundtrack. Each piece is unique and fitting for the boss it relates to.
Best Story? A detailed and mysterious story set in an even more detailed and mysterious world where players are encouraged to discover for themselves what's going on rather than being spoonfed a simple plot.
Best Game Design? Much the same ass why Game Innovation applies, it challenges the modern hand holding in video games and goes beyond the cut and dry fantasy RPG.
Best Game? For all of the reasons above this applies.

Any one of those would have been more fitting than Best Strategy Game, and just about any puzzle or RTS game would have been than it in that category. What strategy is there? Figure out how to defeat an enemy without dying? Surely that's the premise behind any RPG, and most games as a whole. Dishonored would be a strategy game. Hitman would be a strategy game. Anything beyond point and click CoD singleplayer is a strategy game.
