    Hey all,

Just wondered if anyone has had experience with broadband in a new build house.
The house I am moving in to was probably finished being built about 2 months ago.
The area it is in is still having houses built, although the close/street i'll be in/on has
about 30 houses that are occupied already.
I wanted to take my Virgin broadband with me, but they say that the new
property can't have it (after first telling me it could??).
It is most likely because it is new. RM's postcode finder gives a postcode on
the address. Googlemaps/other maps don't find the postcode or address at all.

Supposedly I can't even get a phone line from BT there (which I don't want anyway).

What should I do? I don't know who to contact. :/

    Any help appreciated.

What "brand" of house is it? Virgin do have cable in a lot of new builds now.

I've emailed that. Waiting on response.

It is a Countryside Properties new build. It is literally 1 minute walk away from my current flat
and they say it can't get virgin.

That can't be right. When they put up new builds the phone lines go in with the rest of the wiring.

Yeah, none of them think it exists.

I popped over to ask the neighbour and he doesn't have internet yet. But the neighbour on
the other side is, apparently, getting virgin installed. Yet virgin tell us they aren't allowed to
do anything as they don't have permission to install in the new builds (WTF!?).

I know, our flat was all wired up and ready to go. Just needed them to
    connect it outside.

But I think they're just going "DUH Postcode no exist no virgin bai".

I will have to ring them up tomorrow then. All of them are just saying it (the house) doesn't exist, so they can't do it.
PlusNets online checker says no. So we'll see.

We moved to a new build (bought off plan) in Oct 2013. No phone line at all n the property and arranged for BT to come out 4 days after we had moved in. Unfortunately due to a little communications error on their part (which they never fully admitted to......) they never arrived, we had to wait a month for a phone line to be fitted. The area we moved to is being fitted out with FTTP, unfortunately, it would seem that BT retail, Openreach, Royal Mail and our Local Authority don't actually talk to each other about when things are complete and ready to be installed. We then had to wait 4 months for the fibre to be blown through the ducts to allow us to have a decent broadband speed (we are over 2 kilometres from the exchange so FTTC was not feasible) and we were having to make do with sub 1mbs speeds!!!!!!! Now on fibre we have 76mbs downloads and 21mbs uploads. Love it!
