Modding brushed alu

i was wondering if anyone could tel me how to recreate the brushed alu effect of a coolermaster as i have an alu faceplate for a fan controller that i want to match the rest of the alu perfectly

 

sandpaper

use a nice raugh sand paper and sand one way should do the trick

Or if you got a Grind Master handy [] wack it through there does a lovely job

Sounds about right. I use 180grit, but somewhere in that neighborhood.

 

You probably won't get it exact to the effect on your case. My suggestion would be to make a new faceplate from an existing 5.25" plate that came with the case. If you have none, buy a spare from www.kustompcs.co.uk

 

yeh, thats wot i was thinking of doing as it would look alot better, but the face plate has 4 regular holes, 1 rounded spuare for the screen and 3 oval slightly slanted buttons on the bottom, not the easiest shapes to cut out wen all u have is a dremel, a drill and a few files
