Hi all, I recently purchased a 3XS Radius Core I5 2500k bundle from Scan but am having a few teething issues with it. First off, I have had about 7 or 8 BSODs with either error codes: *** stop: 0x00000124 (0x00000000, 0x8667601c, 0xbe200000, 0x0005110a) Or: *** stop: 0x00000101 (0x00000031, 0x00000000, 0x807c8120, 0x00000001) Some of these are while playing games, others while running PRime95 Small FFT tests. Also I keep getting Prime 95 worker failures on both Small and Large FFT tests after varying lengths of time on 1 or often 2 cores. The bundle has been pre-overclocked to 4.6Ghz, and was fitted in a Fractal Design R3 case for me. I just added the Drives, PSU and GFX card. When under-load the machine often makes a high pitch whining sound, which does not happen when not overclocked. I have had temps in the region of 76 according to Coretemp when running prime96 tests, which seems a little hot to me but maybe that's normal for such a large overclock. I had to manually down-clock the system as the default profile was missing, leaving only the 3xs OC profile. Also trying to do a 'load failsafe defaults' or 'load optimised defaults' for the CPU under the 'Motherboard Intelligent Tweaker' menu in the BIOS does nothing, where as trying that on the Voltage and Memory speed sub menues does actually change the settings to default. Anyone got any ideas or other troubleshooting steps I can take?
Ok, firstly yes 76C is too hot for a Sandybridge CPU running at that speed. It sounds like a lazy OC where they have just upped the volts and then not thoroughly tested it! Scan have their own section within this forum here so post the above there and see what Chris P from Scan says. I'm starting to see a lot these threads where users have bought factory OC'd bundles from Scan, Aria and Overclockers and are reporting problems. If these companies are going to sell them running OC'd then they should damn well be testing them thoroughly.
hi m8 what board did you get im running a GA-P67A-UD4-B3 radius bundle from scan had a few problems with it aswell but alls well the overclocked scan done needed fine tuning as alot of settings were on auto mite b able to help with ya problem
It should not be whining and those temperatures are way off! Just curious what CPU cooler did they provide exactly in this bundle?
