    I use BTYahoo... how will i know if my service has been doubled? Like.. is there an easy way to find out?

    Yes, check your DUN entry status when you are connected, it will tell you the speed.

    I'm using a router though so i don't get the connection status thing in XP?

    Oh, doesn't your router tell you what it is connected at in its admin page?

    I don't use a router so I am not very familier with them.

    What router is it mate.

    Most routers have a status page where they have an upstream and downstream value

    On the main page when you access it there should be an upstream and a downstream value :D

    my mate had just got 8mb ADSL with 1mb upload.
    we host a game of mohaa with suttin like 16 ppl with only 30 ping and thats with running a teamspeak server

    so adsl is limited at the providers end

    why does that mean adsl is limited at the provider's end? Also, ping is more to do with line latency than with bandwidth.

    In the uk the Adsl is limited By BT in most cases.

    Companies like bulldog have different rates because they have done the llu themselves and deal with problems themselves without using BT.

    This is al set to change this year though as more isps are starting to do their own llu

    Does anyone have any idea when this speed increase will take place? I live in London and haven't noticed any difference yet.
