So can I then chuck the white box out, reclaim a power socket and use the same plug from the phone socket face plate straight into the red port on the router (the one the white box connects to, or is there another port on the HH5?)?
I will admit I've not looked at it in any fashion at all and I'm in work so can't check it out myself :)

Or Aluminium, in my case, meaning the max speed I can get is about 36mpbs on the 80Mbps package.

Saying that, it's a darn sight better than the 700kbps I was getting on ADSL...

    Thx ppl

BT rang us up just and we're getting the option 1 infinity for an extra £3 a month on what we pay now, plus the new Homebub 5. He said our adsl speed is 5mbps, it should now go upto 39-40mbps when its activated.

Next thing is to see if its worth me getting a ac wireless card. My pc and xbox 360 are connected on the "N 5ghz" frequency, the rest are currently "N 2.4ghz". I tend to share files between the home pc's over the homegroup and when i get a new version of a program that all our pc's have on I use the homegroup network to install it from my pc.

I've been playing with Intel's 7260 mini PCI-E AC card and Asus' PCE-AC68 if you're interested. I'm using an Asus RT-AC66U router atm but I'm on Virgin - getting Infinity next week. IMHO AC is definitely worth it. Was getting 25MB/sec on the PCI-E card 20ft and two walls away and 60MB/sec with the PCE-AC68. Crazy speeds - no more powerline adaptors for me and tbh no point laying CAT5 with those kinds of speeds really. Will let you know how it goes with the HH5.

That would be great Combatus thx. I've currently got the Asus DSL-N55U Router which is great. If you get to try the Asus card with the HH 5 i could be tempted to upgrade the other pcs in the house even if i don't do mine.

A bit late now but when I had infinity installed on 29th Jan. I asked the engineer for the OR VDSL Modem and he had one in the van still and gave it to me. He also let me keep the hh5.

You can also buy the modems pretty cheap on ebay in case you didn't get one and want one. Huawei HG612 is the model number (at least the one I got).

I haven't had any problems with the modem overheating and I have it wedged between an RT-N66U a gigabit switch and a shed load of eth cabling. Not noticed any capping either and I've already hit over 100 gig in steam and windows downloads after being away for a year.

Heres the speeds I get in case anyone wondered:
