    Need some advice

Recently moved into a renovated property. The renovator (landlord) disconnected the BT line to re-do the roof and it is currently wrapped around the telegraph pole just outside my house. Have been having all sorts of grief trying to get it re-connected vai BT. Was it legal for him to disconnect it?
How can I be sure to get him to pay for the reconnection?

    Please help!

The cable leading to your house and up to the socket belongs to BT. Have you spoken to BT, what did they say?

What do you mean "wrapped" the wire is hanging off the pole if so get a ladder a sandbag and a trusty friend at night or during working hours then reattach..

Disconnecting a BT line - Illegal?

    All

    Thanks for your advice

I am with Talk Talk, who seem to be incapable of having an engineer come out to reconnect.

I am planning to get the landlord to pay for the reconnection but if I can slip in the fact that what they did was illegal, I think I stand in a better position.

Given the pain I've been through to get this reconnected I am very tempted to get the ladder out and do it myself - problem is I have no idea what to do!
