I already have a case, good quality PSU, DVD-RW and simply wish to build a low-cost quiet internet/email/word processing computer.

I noticed the AMD Sempron LE-1250 Socket AM2 processor - does anyone have any experience with these?

Exactly what is this processor capable of? What am I limiting myself to with this processor?

    Can you recommend anything else?

Budget is £100 for CPU, RAM and Mobo.

Bear in mind that I will have absolutely no intention to game on this computer - anything more demanding than web-browser based flash game, that is.

    Thanks for any help!

    Gigabyte 740G board - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/145300 - £43.65

    2Gb Corsair DDR2 - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/130432 -£17.50

    AMD 64 X2 5200+ - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/138891 - £41

The CPU you recommended should be ok, but it is only single core. For just a little more you get a much faster chip. The above should come in at around £100. If you swapped the 5200+ for the LE-1250 it would be £20 cheaper. :)

Using one stick of DDR2 leaves you room to upgrade to 4Gb in the future.

EDIT: Bah. The CPU I chose is OEM and doesn't include a cooler. Rubbish. Just go with the retail LE-1250 then!
