Peripherals Budget racing wheel

    Hi,

    I want to buy a racing wheel for the upcoming Codemasters F1 2010 game. I've tried the Logitech G25 and its awesome. Unfortunately, I dont have the money to spend on it. Are there any good and cheaper alternatives, preferably closer to the £50 mark?

    Bumping this as i have a similar problemusing a joystick hurts my arm after a shortwhile and i can't get a gamepad that is sensitive enough.

    It might be worth seeing if you can get a MOMO from ebay.

    I'm using an old Logitech Formula Force which, although not brilliant, does OK.

    before i got my G25 i had a logitech drive FX, its an Xbox 360 wheel but worked fine in windows. Its not the greatest wheel but its better than a control pad and can be found for around £35 online.

    I have heard good things about MOMO, so that might be an option, allthough I really don't know about it's pricing.

    I recently got myself G27 for my first wheel, and I'm loving it to bits. Sure it ain't actually cheap, but I knew I would have upgraded sooner or later anyways, so I it actually saved me some cash :)

    Issue 76 of Custom PC did a Labs Test on four budget wheels and the Saitek R660GT came out well with an Approved score of 83% and a retail price of less than £50.

    Just done a shopping search on Google and there appears to be a bit of a shortage, but it is still listed on Saitek's web site so you could e-mail them for more information.

    The Logitech Driving Force GT Steering Wheel seems to get good reviews but is a little more expensive at £90 from Play and Amazon allthough there is one on e-bay if your quick.

    With steering wheels it really is a case of 'get what you pay for'. My only advice is do not even consider something that isn't Logitech. I am using a Logitech Driving Force GT, which although is PS3 wheel, does work fine on PC. Bought mine for around £70 a year ago so probably cheaper than that now. Other than that there is the G25, and tbh they are the only two worth even looking at.

    oh! I didnt know CPC did a lab test for them. Is it possible to access previous issues online? I'm a subscriber.
