Building i7 i december but want to get basic idea of parts the now and will make minor changes nearer the time Thanks in advance! The parts are as followed: Motherboard: Asus Rampage II Extreme Intel X58 CPU: Intel Core i7 920 D0 RAM: 3x2GB Corsair Dominator DDR3 PC3-12800 GFX Card: 1GB Asus GTX 285 240 Core PSU: 800W Tagan TG800-BZ Quad Rail (Modular) HDD: 1TB Maxtor DiamondMax 7200Rpm, 32mb cache DiskDrive 1: LiteOn Internal BD-ROM Blu Ray Sata DiskDrive 2: Samsung LightScribe DVD Writer Thanks for looking
Everything is fine apart from the HDD i would get the Samsung F1 1TB also i would get the GTX 275 and save some money
i persanally would change the gpu to a 4870x2 much better value for money http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/2GB-...-750MHz-1600-Cores-CrossFire-2x-DL-DVI-I-HDTV change the hard drive to a western digital cavier black 1TB http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/1TB-...ALS-Caviar-Black-SATA-300-7200-rpm-32MB-Cache psu is a overkill so go for corsair 620 http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/620W...12V-whisper-quiet-5-year-warranty-NEW-VERSION! i would also buy a cooler so you can overclock your cpu so go for the titan fenrir http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Tita...17dBAplus-HDT-CPU-Cooler-(775-1366-K8-AM2-AM3)
I agree with Flame regarding the GTX 275. It is the better deal. I agree with Bagman regarding the WD Caviar Black and the Corsair PSU. If you want to overclock the Fenrir would be great... but loud. The Thermalright Ultra Extreme 120 has similar performance and can be much quieter. Why not get a BD-ROM/DVD-RW combo drive?
switch the 285 to a 275 rampage II extreme seems a bit overkill. id change it to p6t deluxe switch the hard drive to either spinpoint F1 or seagate 7200.12 both 1TB versions
Building in DECEMBER you would realy need a crystal ball to work out what's going to be the best way to spend your cash. Forget about it completely untill alot closer to the time and people will help you choose the most wise way to spend your cash at the time.
Wow... I should really pay more attention. December is indeed a long way off. Slizza is right... the hardware market with be completely different come December.
