So a friend has asked me to spec and probably build him a PC. His budget is £500 but we'll be getting the parts through work so no VAT. This gives me the £625 budget. He's a graphic designer and does most his work on Adobe illustrator (I think) and it will be used for this. It will also be used for gaming. He does not need a monitor, peripherals or an OS so I'm just looking at the base unit. As he wants to use it for work, I'm swaying towards Intel however, he is a gamer too so a half decent GPU is a must. He'll be running games at 1080p. Part of me is thinking I should put him off buying a GPU for a couple months until the new AMD GPU's are available. That should give a bit more budget to play with now. What do you think?
Does he have a usable system at the moment? If yes, wait for the GPU. If not, this: https://secure.scan.co.uk/aspnet/Sh...eea-7298-45ff-a086-0648590a3b88#BasketDetails would be good value. A good upgrade would be an SSD.
