I want to build a comp for my house here in florida, my max budget is 400, should be able to game to some extent. Monitor not included, but keyboard and mouse needs to be included. Preference AMD, 512mb, decent gpu, cd rw Links and prices on newegg.com
I think I'll get this case http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=11-145-026&depa=1 for $26 w/ power supply so i have $374 left
Try this card on for size (since you said you wanted gaming, I looked for a decent card): http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproductdesc.asp?description=14-119-125&DEPA=1 ($125)
ok, is this good for 400, anything else I need? Is everything compatible? Anything better for the same price? http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=19-103-379&depa=1 90 dollars CPU AMD 2500+ http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?description=11-145-026&depa=0&manufactory=BROWSE 26 dollars Case + power supply http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-131-478R&depa=1 50 dollars Mobo http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=22-140-133&depa=1 45 40gb hd http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-211-119&depa=1 73 pc3200 512 http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-240-014&depa=1 9600 pro 111
go over to tech tv and look up thier 500 gamming rig and just tweak acording to your budget now g4tv.com under screen savers archives maybe down due to the switch but they should be up shortly
here's my rig, any cables I need? http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=19-103-379&depa=1 90 dollars CPU AMD 2500+ http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?description=11-145-026&depa=0&manufactory=BROWSE 26 dollars Case + power supply http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-131-478R&depa=1 50 dollars Mobo http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=22-140-133&depa=1 45 40gb hd http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-211-119&depa=1 73 pc3200 512 http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-240-014&depa=1 9600 pro 111 dollars http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=27-182-011&depa=1 24 dollars cd rw http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=35-150-005&depa=1 hd cooler 4 dollars http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?description=35-150-007&depa=0&manufactory=BROWSE 3 80 mm fans 5 dollars
, nice for not much more that 420$, but shipping will cost about 20$, and if you have all the cables necessary no matter if they are the ribbon (your choice), then it should be fine.
the total price is 427 not including keyboard or mouse, and would like to get wit hkeyboard and mouse down to 400, should I get an athlon 2000+? Or a different mobo? I don't know anything about mobos. Does the hd, ram, and cpu work with the mobo i listed?
1 way to decrease the price would be to downsize the 9600 to a 9600SE, but since this is a gaming rig you shouldnt switch.
no going intel would be more expensive. Mobos are about the same price for each but the intel processors are much more expensive.
off directron.com you can get amd althlon xp 2500+ "barton" biostar A atx mobo samsung ddr400 ram sony cd burner black case with 300watt PS samsung 40gig hd powercolor radeon 9200 (not SE) the total comes to 399.93$, unfortuneatly it doesnt come with a keyboard or mouse, but if you were to get that, the computer would start to lose the potential to play games decently
Well, I acytually found a way to brign down the price, I'm gonna ship my old RAM, pc2100 512mb and a monitor. so that takes 70 dollars off my list. I don't want to change video cards I decided. So, since i don't know anything about mobos, is the one i selected good for gaming? compatible with ddr pc2100 RAM, compatible with the AMD 2500?

All of them, refurbished stuff on newegg is just the card in an antistatic bag. So IDE anyways. The 2500+ wants PC2700/DDR333 ram, and often times running an AMD system with a divider (which you would need to unless the ram overclocks well) will cause it to be unstable. Theoretically it would work though. http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-157-022&depa=1 That mobo is a little cheaper and would come with cables. $44 http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=19-103-379&depa=1 2500+ =$89 http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=22-140-133&depa=1 40gb HD $45 http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?description=11-145-026&depa=0&manufactory=BROWSE Case + PSU = $26 http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-240-014&depa=1 9600pro = $111 http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-211-119&depa=1 512mb ram = $73 http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=27-182-011&depa=1 52x CDRW = $25 That's $413 plus some shipping... that's about as close to $400 as you'll get unless you really take a hit on the video card. You could get a 9550 but I think it's worth the extra $15 or so, unless your budget is THAT tight
no, I have pc 2100, I want to use that pc2100. So I need a mobo that is compatible with that. I'm not even sure i;m gonna get the comp. MY mom is trying to persuade me not to.
