Well, how about telling us what each of you plan to use your Shuttles for and if there is something you really want to have included :) .

    1000GBP is a lot of money. That's almost $1800USD. Nice. :D

    Here's my recommendation:
    SN95G5 -- $329.00
    AMD Athlon64 3800+ -- $609.00
    512MB PC3200 Kingston x2 -- $82.00 x 2 = $164.00
    Western Digital WD2500JD SATA HDD, 250GB -- $156.99
    Sapphire Radeon X800 Pro -- $469.00

    --------------------------------
    Total: $1727 / £962

Now, granted, buying from the US is probably not an option for you, as shipping would likely push you over the limit, so you'd need to find these parts on your side of the pond, but that shouldn't be too hard. Prices may vary a bit, but I left you a little headroom. You could easily slap in another HDD.

erm silent death, you do realize that the prices you listed will be essentially the same on that side of the pond...

I hate to quote myself, but:

Yes, I know prices will be about the same, but some things you can find cheaper on certain sides of the Atlantic.

Still, that's a damn fast system. I wish I had almost two grand to drop on a new Shuttle. :sigh:

I think Tulatin meant that over here in Blighty the numbers in the prices would be the same, except we'd be paying in pounds sterling :waah:

    Here's the British version:

    SN95G5 -- £276
    AMD Athlon64 3500+ -- £262
    512MB PC3200 Kingston x2 -- £63 x 2 = £126
    Western Digital WD2500JD SATA HDD, 250GB -- £70
    Sapphire Radeon X800 Pro -- £293.70

    --------------------------------
    Total: £1027 / $1842

Everything but the video card is from http://www.gemma.co.uk (who don't let you link directly! Rawr!), and all VAT is included in my pricing.

So, there's not a whole lot of difference, but VAT does suck. ;)

I cant wait for SLI in a shuttle :D (two x16 slots right next to each other, just be sure to use GTs. Shuttle would have to supply a smaller verson of the interconnect PCB... and maybe rig up some method of sucking heat off those cards

In systems like those described, it's going to be an oven inside! You also need to be aware of the 240 watt PSU, which can be a limitation. And inside an SN95G5 there can fit 2 HD's.
