Hi, I'm currently building a computer for the first time, and I've run into some problems...

I'm basically done with all the hardware stuff, got all the drives in, all the cables connected, etc., but I can't seem to actually get the thing to start.

When I power it up, the fans all turn on and it seems ok, but then nothing shows up on the monitor and it keeps saying something like, "Check PC/Signal Cable," but everything's all hooked up.

The BIOS won't even start, but everything inside seems ok...

Please help me out, I'd appreciate any feedback.

Btw, it did start up a couple times, but it was out of random luck, i think, because I can't get it to start the BIOS again. :(

re-seat your video card and make sure the cable is secure... just for starters

check the orientation of the floppy cable and the master/slave config on the ATA devices.

these can cause a bios to hang.

What are the specs of the machine? Including the make/model/specs of the power supply? Is it a generic PSU that came with a case?
