Hey guys I am going to be building my own custom computer very soon and before I buy everything I just want to make sure I dont need to think about buying anything else just now and that everything will work together nicely. Because I dont want to buy it all and regret it later

    The Case!

    The HDD!

    The Motherboard!

    The PSU!

    The GFX Card!

    The RAM!

    The Processor!

Just some Thermal compound for the processor
Static mat so I dont damage my parts

Any replies will be very much appreciated!

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong section guys im new here and this seemed like the best place :D

The anti static mat is not needed my friend nor an earthing strap, 10 years of PC building without ever using one and only having one rig not work on me due to a faulty HDD!

This is the wrong section unless your planning on modifying a component or something, you would get better help in the hardware section.

Good luck on your build and welcome to the forums!

Thanks guys for the replies, sirkillalot thanks a bunch mainly for showing scan.co.uk! I made my cart on there and its saving me £100 in total already. So many thanks for that and yeah I was thinking about getting a CPU cooler because I will end up OC'ing my GFX card and CPU so ill definately look into that.

Also Boscoe thanks for the advice and to be honest I agree with you but in all honesty ive been reading alot about static damage when building computers and I just dont want to risk it for only what...7 quid? I know its silly but hey peace of mind right? :p

Also sorry for posting it here thanks for the redirection ill be sure to post it there in the future.

    Thanks again guys.

I assume you've got mouse, keyboard and monitor, and TIM cleaner (In case you change the TIM later)?

Scan do a daily bundle frequently where they combine the Mobo, RAM and CPU as a kit. Likewise at weekends they usually have GFX cards, motherboards, CPU's on offer, so don't rush and buy them full price.

Finally, Bit-tech have an offer for free delivery with Scan. The link is in the Scan section off the main forum. n There's a requirement of 20 posts, so you'll need to get a few things off your chest. Please - no spamming though or it'll probably get revoked.

Building a pc yourself, you honest cannot expect never to go wrong somewhere.
You cannot expect not to want to make an alteration very soon because of your choices.
PC building has become something of a fine art.
My best advice, is get someone who has experience in this field to do the job for you, and point you in the right direction, with the choice of AMD, Intel, or Nvidia. The trouble with this, is that most shops dont offer you the right choices, and are looking to make money from you.
    Best of luck

you might want to get the 1k version of the PSU if you're OC'ing GPU + CPU :)
