Nice one. What about black allen head screws/bolts for the front mesh or would that spoil the rest of the look?
Looks awesome mate! So to get the metal flake effect you paint black then glitter then the clear? Looks really proffesional
Thanks for the replies lads.... @Throbbi..I was thinking along the same lines as you mate, plus I also thought that by going with the black it wouldn't be hard to spray the fan controller and DVD drive to match. I have sprayed the a DVD drive in the chrome paint and I'm not 100% on that either. I had a plan of what I was going to do right up until this point......Arghhhhhh!!!... I ain't going to sleep tonight this is going to bug me ...lol Maybe go with the black and do what Fingers and Kovoet said but have the bolts in silver...mmmm I don't know, maybe a night on the beer will make it all become clear, Ive have some of my greatest idea's in the pub...Well they were great at the time!
I flatten it back with 1200 grade wet and dry, then give it a clear coat and get the glitter straight on before it dries, I find it helps it stick a lot better than going straight on to the dry paint.
How about a Gun Metal sort of finish to the above, I used to paint various types of model miniatures as a kid and recall black ink painted on a bright metal finish to yield a nice instant effect
Right then lads...It seems the general opinion is to go with some sort of grill. The mirrored idea similar to the floor has been ignored so I'll right that one out of the equation. What I'll do is make up another 1 in black and then see what every one thinks. I'm sort of leaning towards the black , but that could all change...lol..Especially if I can afford to water cool everything as the rad will have to go in the front and sods law dictates that the holes on the rad will have a different spacing to the way the fans fit now. Thats the original front just taped on as a tester. The idea being to hide the reservoir behind the 2 mirror so it only showed up when it's lite up. I was also toying withe the idea of going full hight with it then fitting a slot drive DVD and routing out some slots for the fans. Thanks for all the input guys....
Yeah , I think you're right the mirror looks sleek and the grill looks chunky, almost industrial, may be just which colour to go for now. (Note to self..polish up and get rid of finger prints before uploading pics)
All it needs is an air dam at the front and a HUUUUGE spoiler at the rear, surely it would run faster? Maybe a Starsky & Hutch go faster stripe down the side and a BulldogJeff + (wife's name) strip across the window?
Don't give me anymore idea's, I'm confused enough at the mo as it is...lol ..right now I'm doing a grill in black and going to post it later when it's dry, then we can all have another debate I've seen a couple on line with car parts, 1 had a blower scoop on top and the other had a full blown air intake.
+rep for doing this with cans, was thinking for sure you used a spray gun before I got to the shot of the cans , flipping nice paint job Jeff .
