Im new to this forum so scuse me if i ask an alrdy asked question. I use to always use yoshi.us for all my help but lost my info and dont feel like redoin it.

GOt this case will post pics later im doin complete redo on it and i need help.

First off i have alot of metal(that origanaly was gona all be blank no paint just scuffed up metal but i saw a project on this site that is like that so scratch that) but is there any way to clear coat just metal so it doesnt smear as easy and scratch.

I wanted to put 4 fans in all quiet fans but still i want a fan controller. So they will alll be same fan and i thought it would be easier to use just 2 fan rheostats 1 for intake and one for outake. Is that possible i have seen it done but do i need to make a circuit board or anything special to do it

Same area diff question i wanted to make a hub where all fans plug to one box to lessen amout of cables in case by using one molex cable. What connection would be best to connect the fan into the box (and i want it to be diff so NO molex) i saw how to use phone plugs but it more expensive(where i looked) and would be a waist. ANy suggestions i want it to be cliped in or somthin so no disconnects happen.

Thats all for now my mind is in the gutter so i have more but cant think of them.

If you're from Florida, you should damn well spell better than me, and I'm from the Netherlands, practically the other side of the world. Unless you're 11 years old of course...

It's the text message generation speaking :grr: :grr: (I'm one two, but I prefer typing in full)

Its best to make your questions easy to understand, that way you will get the best response from the forum.

You should be able to buy a fan power spliter which merges 2 fan cables into one so you can run them both from one source ie A fan controller.

They are relitivly cheap and google is your friend.

Yes sorry for the text message speaking Xoddoza hit nail on head. I find that typing like that is faster and has less strain on the head(it was late at night so i wanted to get it done and fast). I decided upon using 2 spdt switchs instead of rheostats that ways its easier on me and im positvie i can wire it any way. About the rhostat question i was just wonderin if i needed a special circuit to make it work ive noticed on alot of controllers that it has circuit boards with capacitors and resistors on it. Lol through trying to type this messege a forgot my new question i guess i will have to post it later.

Wow that is a pretty cool item im just wondering why all the ports are spose to be outside the case. But like you said u could put it inside the case. I was looking at a case mod in the forums and found a way to hook things up the way i want. If you want to know how to make a fanbus go look at the fanbus.com schematics.
Finally remembered my question from last night. Im wondering what size resitor do u need for an led. The led will be hooked up to my fan voltage changer so it will have different voltages(i dont think that matters but if it does it would be important to know). I read somwhere about a 470 ohm resistor but i dont know if it ment 470k ohms 470m ohms or just 470 ohms.

yes directron.com is great for that. I live 15 minutes away from it to.
dont worry about your spelling i do the same mistakes will chatting to my friends in games. And for leds. If you need to buy leds lsdiodes.com is the place. 470k ohms is like 470,000 ohms i think. I dont remember what the "m" stands for. but if it says 470ohm then thats the one you need.

Thnks for that site it has some good stuff. I want to use that calc thing but 1 it will have 5 volts one time then 12 another so how would i calculate that in 2nd i have no clue what to put in other fields(IVe never used leds in a mod cept for on light and HD activity light). Here best question is if i go to high will it hurt led(my guess is all it will do is lessin brightness)

Alright i figured out all the led questions and stuff after days of tideos work but now i have a new question. What size power supply would i need to power 1 white cold cathoide, 1 HD, 1 (maybe 2 later) cdrom, full atx mobo, 4 80mm fans, 1 2 or 4 line LCD, like 10 leds (and i know that will have to be pluged to 2 or 3 molex plugs(i can use splittlers for that right), one silent boost heatsink, and i think that is it. I was thinking a 400 watt ps but i rly dont know.

you dont need that much power to run that system. 400watts even 350watts(depends on your vidcard) would work. But a 400 watt one would do.

Alright even though my power supply will be enough power it is a generic one that came with my case so i want a better one. I was thinking this one Thermaltake power supply. I know thermaltake makes good power supply and its cheap (yes i know when buying a power supply u shouldnt go to cheap but hey). If anyone knows of a better power supply that is 300 or more watts and is 60 or less.

All these questions relate to a mod im doing i started a log here. Log

generic ones work great if you dont have to much stuff on it. If your not putting like 4 CD-roms 3 HDD and an Overclocked prescott with a SLI 6800gt. :D then you dont need an expensive one. I have a generic 350watt running a GF fx5200, 2500barton, DVDrom, 160gig HDD, 10leds, pair of cathods, and 2 120mm fans, and its overclocked with no problems.

Nooo!!! Don't get a second rate powersupply.

Thats like owning a farrari and sticking crappy tires on it.
If you want good bang for your buck i recomend Super-Flower

and you can buy it from directron.com

I own one of these babys,

550w really really nice, and it was cheap too. Very clean and neat inside, it even has brass heatsinks. :thumb:

Whatever you do, don't skimp too much on the psu!

lol i though only expensive psu where shinny (like chrome). I spent hours polishing the steel on my 350watt powerman psu that i got for $20.

Heh, those aren't brass, they're anodized aluminum colored to look like copper, I have a Super Flower as well. Brass is a poor conductor of heat (100 w/mK typically), copper is 400, aluminum is 250...so I doubt they would use brass when aluminum is cheaper anyway.
