So I ripped "Knocked Up" off bitlord. I have tried to just drag the file onto the CD. Not too mention it is saved as an .avi file. It will say that it is complete, but when I put it in my DVD player, the player says its blank. I'm just not very computer genious and could use some help. Please? :wallbash:

to burn a legally acquired avi file encoded in xvid or divx here is what you need to do:

1: "purchase" the winAVI video converter
    2. install the k-lite codec pack (google it, it's pretty easy to find)
3: click the dvd button and select the avi file you want to convert
4: click the "burn vcd dvd now!" button and select the folder outputted by step 3
    5: burn to dvd
    6: enjoy

Are you sure that it's a DVD and not just an avi? DVD rips tend to weigh in over 3 Gb. and the avi tells me that it might be a normal vcd you're needing perhaps.
Unless the file size is bigger than 800mb, stick to cd

Open Nero, and create a Video CD or Video (movie?) DVD, rather than burning a data disc.
