Last night I spent a few hours trying to burn an audio CD compilation of tracks (.wav files) without any gap between tracks. Nero (6) insisted on a 2-second gap.

Eventually I tracked down a Nero plug-in for WMP, then found I needed to roll back to WMP9 from my WMP10, and it eventually worked perfectly. But is there any way I've missed in Nero? Seems odd to create a free plug-in for WMP and not have the same feature in their own burner software.

In Nero 7 there is a "no pause between tracks" in the burn options screen(Audio CD tab) before you burn it. Not saying it definately works because I can't remember if I've ever used it or not, but the option is certainly there in 7.

Selecting all bar the first track, then under Properties, checking "Cross-fade with previous track" and x-fade time 0 secs seems to do the trick in Nero 6.

WMP11 has it inbuilt. Works fine for me.

Looks like MS need to work on their FAQ.
Comparing WMP10 and WMP9+Nero plugin, the plugin makes burning very much faster, but there's no verification possible AFAICS, plus no way I can see to wipe a re-recordable CD.

    I've just installed WMP11, where's the no-gap option?

IIRC there usually a burn "track at once" and "disk at once" option in your burning software somewhere and if you choose disk at once (which isn't usually default) then you don't get the pauses

Dunno about WMP; I can't stand the software. But in most apps that can burn audio CDs (I use either Nero6 or iTunes) have an option about adding in a delay... usually in either a preferences menu or just before burning. I think you just missed the one in your original Nero6 install - it's definitely there.

That Express option shown in the screenshot doesn't show in Burning ROM, and I don't usually use Express... :wallbash:

It does work for me though. :thumb:
That threw up an error message saying neither of my burners (a Plextor and an NEC) could handle that - and reverted to 2-seconds. :duh:

So Nero Burning ROM 6 has the instant cross-fade method that works, Nero Express 6 has the no-pause checkbox that does the same thing. :eyebrow: :grr:

I set the crossfade on the playback options and it worked for me.
