My laptop keeps running out of space on it's internal 500gb HDD so I decided to buy an esata (as my laptop has the port) external HDD enclosure. Spinpoint F3 1TB is CPC current choice. But your choice looks good also, here's a Toms hardware review.
The 11th generation (7200.11) of Seagate Barracuda's had firmware issues, so it might be worth your while to use something else.
