There is a world of difference between the keyboards on the macbook pros. The enter/return key is a different shape. When ever I try and type on a UK keyboard I find myself pressing all he wrong buttons.

All my macs have been bought in the US for this reason. Powerbook then Macbook Pro. I just don't like UK keyboard layouts at all.

No problems with warrenty, I sent my macbook pro back for repair twice under warrently and didn't have any issues. I also sent my powerbook back for repair once again under warrenty.

Buy it in the US if it will save you money and you don't mind the US keyboard layout and having to get a power adapter.

I'll take that as advice but since I use my compact camera for a lot of creative pictures and create albums out of it I think its time I moved onto dSLR, I just haven't got round to buying one since I spend too much on holidays

Fair enough. It was intended as friendly advice, not a telling off. :D

You don't even need to do that - If you Buy a macbook or pro, it'll come with a long mains flex that you can use with the PSU. Hack the moulded US plug off the end, stick a UK 3 pin on it with a suitble fuse and voila - your good to go, as the PSU is a travel / universal voltage one. I did this with my MBP that I bought in the states last year, and have had no issues.

I believe that you can also buy the just the plug shaped section that clips into the PSU as well. I didn't have to as I had a spare one already.

Didn't end up buying either a mac or dSLR  Turned out I spent a bit too much money on clothes at the start then had to get my gf to hospital which costed me a fair bit - still waiting for insurance to pay out so ended up with not enough to buy one :sigh: Was that close to buying the 400D on the first day but thought I'd wait a bit and look around.

Saying that I did buy myself a compact digital camera (saving £100 from the UK) and the number of camera/computer shops in NY is just phenominal! So cheap too which is a bonus! Meh, I'll save up more and buy one here!
