Electronics Cables in to Molex connectors..

    When modding Power Cables in to 4 pin Molex connectors most have 3 wires , Yellow , Black and red...

    Is it nessesary to have the yellow ....I have done some cabling and re wired so that only Black and Yellow is used....

    This ok ?

    yellow is 12v, red is 5v, black is ground - if you didnt know :)

    um...

    Im not so good at electronics..But Im sure on a mod Im doing the front toggle switches to main power I only have red and Black and its powering up fine..
    I must check...

    Molex have 4 cables.

    Yellow: 12V
    Black: Ground
    Black: Ground
    Red: 5V


    I think you're getting confused, and I don't know what a PSU or mobo power switch/button has to do with molexes. :eyebrow:

    Stay away from that kind of thing before you fry something, at least until you really know what you're doing. ;)

    AFAIK there's no universal colour-code for the various plugs between case front leds & switches and the mobo headers, but there certainly is for the wires coming out of the power supply. ;)
