The case I am modding on:

I bought a lot of the things I need today, but unfortunately the aluminium had a hiccup, so i'll be getting it tomorrow. The pictures!!!:

Sanding paper (180, 320 and 1200 grit) and masking tape.


Cheap cable sleeves:

Got some free thumb screws:


Cheap ass spraypaint (primer, black and clear coat [for the unpainted aluminium parts])


Perspex:


everything: (the LED strip is white)

I'm in love with hex head bolts, even if this log ends here (which I hope it won't) you get an A+ for choosing them.

 

Thanks everyone. I didn't have internet access for three days, so 3 updates in one now!!!
I got my aluminium, and started building. there is still A LOT of cleaning up to do, so don't be horrified by the ugly edges.

DAY 1:

I started working.

I started making the spacers that extend the front panel with my super bending bench and hammer:

DAY 2:

I/O backplate done!

I had to cut this with a grinder.

I don't feel like finish this thing today, so I left it like that, for now.



Made some room for cable routing:




Started on the side panel skirting:

Still have a lot o cleaning up to do.


Then I had to cut the fan holes, aaarg.

Need some inspiration

thanks, but err no it's to look cool. the aluminium plate underneath it divides the case into 2 compartments.

I'm busy sanding all the parts, then spray-painting it. takes so long!

LOL....

Amazing build razer.... that little misplaced hole will be there to remind you that you need to "measure once, measure again, triple check your measurements, take a break, come back and measure again" and only then are you to put drill bit to perspex... Not a biggie, and just look at it as lesson learned.

This build is going to look amazing once it is finished... I may even steal some of your ideas for my first scratch build (still playing with concepts in my head)...

UPDATE 3!!!!!

I filled up the gap at the front and cleaned it up. filled it with a 3mm piece of opal plexi, and cleaned it with a grinder.

Excellent! for me at least.
